Readjustment rules in Somali plural formation

Abstract

In the process of word formation, finally applies a set of Readjustment Rules (RR's) that determines the final shape of the word. In this paper, the authors examine the RR's that apply to the output of the plural formation rule (PFR) in Somali language, depending on gender, syllabic and phological structure of the input word.

Nella fase finale del processo di formazione delle parole, viene applicato un insieme di regole di adattamento (Readjustment Rules) che determina la forma finale della parola stessa. In questo articolo, gli autori analizzano le regole di adattamento che si rilevano sull'output dell'applicazione delle regole di formazione del plurale in lingua somala e che dipendono dal genere e dalla struttura sillabica e fonologica della parola input.
