Abstract: The author illustrates the identity distortion suffered by Somali refugee women in Canada, deepening the FGM issue and how it affect their self-perception and the perception in the community of arrival.

L'autrice illustra la distorsione identitaria subita dalle donne somale rifugiate in Canada, approfondendo la questione delle mutilazioni genitali femminili (MGF), del modo in cui influenzano la loro percezione di sé e la percezione in seno alla comunità di accoglienza.
