A Thorn in the Sole

Abstract

Short story centred on the passion for Somali poetry of the two characters: Mayxaano, thorny woman of the village, critical writer and great Somali language and literature teacher, and Ayaanle, "A" student in his senior year and member of the High School Writing Club.

Sheeko gaaban oo ku saabsan maanso soomaaliyeed oo ay tiriyeen labo shakhsi: Mayxaano, oo aan lagu jecleen tuuladeeda, waa qoraa iyo mucallimadda dhigta Af-soomaaliga iyo suugaanta. Qofka kalena waa Ayaanle oo ah arday dhigta sannadka ugu dambeeya, wuxuuna xubin ka yahay ururka qorayaasha dugsiga sare.

Breve racconto che ruota attorno alla passione per la poesia somala dei due protagonisti: Mayxaano, personaggio scomodo del villaggio, scrittrice critica ed eccellente insegnante di lingua e letteratura somala, e Ayaanle, studente modello dell'ultimo anno e membro del club di scrittura del liceo.
