Abstract: In this paper, the authors examine two contemporary chains of poetic debates, Siinley and Deelley, analysing their characteristics, their role in Somali oral literature and their contribution in exalting the social status of the 'jiifto' poetic genre.

In questo articolo, gli autori analizzano due catene poetiche contemporanee, la Siinley e la Deelley, illustrandone le caratteristiche, il ruolo nella letteratura orale somala e il contributo nella rivalutazione del genere poetico 'jiifto'.
