Some writings by Muuse H.I. Galaal

Abstract

Alcuni scritti di Muuse H.I. Galaal dati ad A. Puglielli da B. W. Andrzejewski - con un suo breve commento di presentazione - per una eventuale pubblicazione. I tre testi sono: A Collection of Somali Poetry, Perspectives on Somalia – Orientation Course (for experts working in Somalia) e Seeska Hiddada Soomaalida che abbiamo deciso di inserire nell’Archivio per renderle immediatamente disponibili. Si noti che i testi, anche se la data non è sempre indicata, sono stati scritti prima dell’adozione della grafia ufficiale della lingua somala (1972): si può notare – ad esempio – l’utilizzo della grafia ‘hh’ per la fricativa faringale sorda che successivamente è stata trascritta con la lettera ‘x’. Si è scelto di non correggere gli eventuali errori ortografici o elementi non chiari al fine di mantenere il testo nella sua versione originale.

Qoraalladan, inkastoo aan ku cayinnayn taariikhdii la qoray, waxaa la diyaariyay inta aan si rasmiga ah loogu dhawaaqin farta Af-soomaaliga (1972), maxaa yeelay, qoraagu, beddelka shibbanaha “x”, wuxuu u adeegsaday labadan shibbane “hh”. Sidaas ay tahay, waxba kama aanu beddelin habqoraalkoodiisi hore iyo ereyo aan la hubin in ay sax u qoranyihiin iyo in kale oo aan astaamaynayba.

Some writings by Muuse H.I. Galaal that B. W. Andrzejewski gave to A.Puglielli suggesting that they should be published. The texts are: A Collection of Somali Poetry, Perspectives on Somalia – Orientation Course (for experts working in Somalia) and Seeska Hiddada Soomaalida. We decided to insert them in the Archive as they are, including Andrzejewski’s short comment on each of them, in order to make them immediately available. The texts were written before the adoption of the official writing system (1972), and they have not been modified – for exemple the voiceless pharingeal fricative is in this text transcribed with ‘hh’ whereas the official transcription adopted ‘x’.
