La lotta contro la cavalletta del deserto in Somalia (dati e considerazioni fino al luglio 1952)

Abstract

L'autore, che si è occupato a lungo dell'organizzazione della lotta contro le cavallette in Somalia in qualità di capo della Sezione Antiacridica dell'Ufficio Agricoltura e Zootecnica, espone qui, dopo alcuni riferimenti alle vicende delle passate invasioni di cavallette, i criteri che hanno spinto alla cooperazione tra il Desert Locust Control dell'East Africa e Medio Oriente e l'AFIS per un'adeguata lotta antiacridica.

The author, who participated for many years in the organization of the strugglae against lucusts in Somalia as head of the Anti-locusts Section of "Ufficio Agricoltura e Zootecnica" (Agriculture and Zootechnics Office), presents here, after a short introduction concerning the vicissitudes of past locusts' invasions, the criterions with boosted the cooperation between the Desert Locust Contr of East Africa and the Middle East and the Italian Trusteeship in Somalia for an adequate response to locusts issue.
