Abstract: The article is an attempt to explain the reasons of Somalia's collapse after 1991 through an in-depth analysis of Somali society, starting from the well-known Somali poetic metaphor of the 'war horse'.

L'articolo rappresenta un tentativo di fornire una spiegazione al crollo dello stato somalo dopo il 1991 attraverso un'analisi approfondita della società somala, analisi che prende le mosse dalla celebre metafora poetica del 'cavallo da guerra'.
