Abstract

In the article, the author examines the role that Somali and non-Somali intellectuals (historians, anthropologists, politicians and oral poetry) have played in the construction of the representation of Somalia and the creation of myths. He underlines the consequences and thus the importance of their role in the reconstruction of the country.
