Abstract: Questo articolo mira a far luce sulla complessa situazione somala. In particolare analizza in una prospettiva storica i rapporti fra i clan, la nascita e il crollo dello Stato post-coloniale e del nazionalismo pan-somalo, la guerra civile e la conseguente "retribalizzazione" della società, il mutato contesto geopolitico e le prospettive attuali.

This article aims to throw light on the complex Somali situation. In particular, it analyses, from an historical point of view, the reations among clans, the birth and the fall of the post-colonial State and of the pan-Somali nationalism, the civil war and the following "re-tribalization" of the society, the changed geopolitical context and the current perspectives.
